The capital of uttarakhand is Dehradun 'The city of love'.  It is known for the natural environment of the Himalayas. MUSSOORIE 

Mussorie is popularly known as "Queen Of The Hills". It is 35 kilometers away from the state capital Dehradun. It is situated in the foothills of the 'Garhwal Himalayan'. It was established by the 'British Captain'.
The average elevation of mussoorie is 6580 feet.
Mussorie is famous for its 'Scenic Beauty'.
Best time to visit in mussoorie is summer season as it gives pleasant weather.

a. MALL ROAD
Mall Road is mainly famous for shopping and also attracts tourist.
b. LAL TIBBA
It is famous for it's nature and High peak which is 7460 feet.
c. CHAR DUKAN LANDOUR
It is a very famous place for food in Mussoorie especially for Tea (chai).
d. GEORGE EVEREST
It is a historical place as it is famous for its history and it is a very good place for trekking.
e. KEMPTY FALL
This places attracts tourist as it is a most fascinating picnic spot with natural view of water fall.

DEHRADUN

Dehradun is the capital of uttarakhand. It is popularly known as "City Of Love". It is situated near the 'Himalayan Foothills'.
The average elevation of Dehradun is 447 metres.
Dehradun is mainly famous for it's schooling as it is the 'School Capital' of India. Pahadi food is very famous in Dehradun and Momo's ,Gulgulas are also famous food items of Dehradun.
Dehradun is Rich in Rice Cultivation because of good rainfall every year.

CLOCK TOWER

It is one of the most famous Temple of 'Lord Shiva'. The main shivling at the temple is inside a natural cave.

Forest research institute is a first Forest research institute of India. It is established during the British Rule.
CLEMENT TOWN
Clement town is famous for the 'Buddha Temple'. It is a very good place for the worshippers of Buddha and also very clean place.
SAHASTRADHARA
It is very famous water spot in Dehradun and also very good picnic spot for tourist.

CHOTA CHAR DHAM

It is a set of four pilgrimage sites in uttarakhand. These four sites are:
a. YAMUNOTRI
b. GANGOTRI
c. BADRINATH
d. KEDARNATH
Hindu people visit to Char Dham to achieve 'Moksha'. Every year Char Dham yatra begins in the month of May and ends after 2 days of Diwali.
Best time for Char Dham yatra is Mid May to July and september - October.
July and August are the very risky 2 months for Char Dham yatra due to heavy rainfall , roadblocks, land sliding.

YAMUNOTRI DHAM

Yamunotri Dham is famous for yamuna river. It is situated at an altitude of 3293 metres in Garhwal Himalayas. It is covered under the district ' Uttarkashi'. Yamunotri peak is also known as 'Bandar pooch' (Bandar refers to monkey and pooch refers to tail) as ' Lord Hanuman ' doused the fire of his tail after burning the Ravana's Lanka in the yamuna River ' The Chilly River '.
GANGOTRI DHAM
Gangotri Dham is the origin of 'Ganga River'. It is situated at the height of 3100 metres. It is covered in the district called 'Uttarkashi'.
It was here that Goddess Ganga descended when 'Lord Shiva ' released the mighty river from the locks of his hairs.

BADRINATH DHAM

Badrinath Dham is totally dedicated to "Lord Vishnu". It is one of the four sites in India's Char Dham pilgrimage. It is re-established by the Adhi shankara in 7th century.
It is situated in the Garhwal Himalayas, on the banks of the 'Alaknanda River'. It is covered in the district called chamoli.
Badrinath Dham lies between Narayana mountain ranges 9 killometres east of Nilkantha peak (6596 k.m). Badrinath Dham has a elevation of 3300 metres.

KEDARNATH DHAM

This is the Hindu Temple dedicated to 'Lord Shiva'. It is located in the Garhwal Himalayan range near the ' Mandakini River '. It is located in the district called Rudraprayag. Kedarnath's elevation is 3553 metres.
To reach kedarnath  temple one has to trek 22 killometres from 'Gaurikund'. Pony and Manchan services is available to reach the temple.
Kedarnath temple is built by the Pandvas. Pandavas were supposed to have pleased Shiva by doing penance in Kedarnath.
The worst affected area during the 2013 flash floods in North India. But within 1 year it regains it's beauty with the hard work of the lovers of Lord Shiva in mid May 2014.

NAINITAL

Nainital refers to nine tal. Nainital is a 'Himalayan Resort Town' in the Kumaon. It has an average elevation of 2000 metre. It includes ' Nanda Devi ' , Uttarakhand's Highest Peak. Nainital is also a judicial capital of Uttarakhand. The High court of Uttarakhand is in the nainital. It is formerly known as 'British Hill Station'. It has Boating site with 'Naina Devi' Hindu Temple on its north shore.
Nainital is famous because of its favourable climate and it's natural attraction is fantastic.

a. NAINI LAKE

Naini lake is the 'Lifeline' of the nainital. It also provide the facility of boating.

b.NAINA PEAK

Naina peak is a gorgeous place and at a good elevation and the view points form this peak is very fantastic.

c. TIFFIN TOP

It is a nice point for Hiking Sight seeing.
d. PT. G.B. PANT HIGH ALTITUDE ZOO
The zoo has several endangered species of animals in the Himalayas like Royal Bengal Tigers , Himalayan Bears etc.

HARIDWAR

Haridwar has the largest of several sacred ghats. The Ghat is popularly known as 'Har Ki Pauri'. Har ki Pauri' hosts a nightly 'Ganga Aarti' in which tiny flickering lamps are floated off the steps which looks very attractive.
Haridwar is situated on the right banks of the Ganga River, at the foothills of the Shivalik Ranges.
Haridwar also organize a most significant of the events is the kumbha Mela , which is celebrated after every 12 years in Haridwar.
History behind the Kumbha Mela
According to Hindus, it is believed that Haridwar is one of the four sites where drop of Amrit accidentally spilled during the 'Samudra manthan' , the elixir of immortality.

a. HAR KI PAURI

It is one of the beautiful place to see the Hindu culture and religious heritage.

b. MANSA DEVI TEMPLE

This temple is located at the top of Bilwa parvat. Mansa means wish so it is believed that Mansa Devi fulfills all the wishes of their sincere devotees.

c. CHANDI DEVI TEMPLE

This temple is situated at the top of the Neel Parvat. This temple is also known as 'Neel Parvat Teerth'.

d. MAYA DEVI TEMPLE

It is believed that the heart and navel of goddess sati fell in the region where the temple stands today.

                                         RISHIKESH

Rishikesh is situated in the Himalayan foothills besides the 'Ganga River'. Rishikesh is mainly famous for the 'Yoga Study and Meditation'. Now days, Rishikesh is world famous as the "Yoga Capital" of the world. Every year with full of enthusiasm 'International Yoga Festival' is hosted for one week in the month of March.
Rishikesh area is also known as 'Kubjamark' as it is believ of Hindus that Lord Vishnu appeared under a Mango Tree.
Rishikesh is also known as the Gateway to the Char Dham yatra.

This is the famous hanging bridge across the Ganga river. It is believed that 'Lord Lakshman' had crossed the Ganga river with two ropeways.

b.RAM JHULA

This is the iron suspension bridge across the Ganga River. This bridge is one of the iconic mark of Rishikesh.

c.TRIVENI GHAT

This ghat is one of the biggest and famous ghat of the Rishikesh.

                                                AULI

Auli is situated in a Himalayan ski resort , a white winter area wonderland. It is surrounded by coniferous and oak forest. Auli is located in the district of chamoli and the average elevation of auli is 2800 metres. Auli is also known as Auli Bugyal.
The best time to visit Auli to enjoy the marvelous snowfall is November to March.
Auli attracts tourist with it's natural beauty which is very hard to describe the beauty of this place.
World wide Auli is the best destination of skiing in India. Snow skiing attracts many tourist tourist. Auli is also famous for skii resort , skii slopes, skii events, which are very enjoyable for snow lovers and also for others.
